You've Got Questions About Massage Services—I've Got Answers

  • Is therapeutic massage painful?

Not usually. My therapeutic massage sessions are designed to be effective but not painful. You might feel some discomfort if we’re working on a particularly tense area—but I always check in and adjust the pressure to your comfort level.

  • What will happen at my first massage appointment?

At your first session, I’ll begin by asking about your health history, areas of concern, and goals for the massage. This helps me recommend the best approach for your body’s specific needs.

  • Can I ask for more or less pressure during the session?

Absolutely! I encourage you to speak up at any time. Whether you prefer deeper work or a lighter touch, I’ll adjust the pressure to make sure you're comfortable and relaxed throughout the session.

  • What benefits can I expect from therapeutic massage?

Therapeutic massage offers a range of benefits, including pain relief, stress reduction, improved circulation, better flexibility, and faster muscle recovery. Many of my clients also report sleeping better and feeling more energized after their sessions.

  • How do I know if a massage therapist is well-established?

Look for credentials, licenses, and reviews. I’m a licensed massage therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). You’re always welcome to read through my site and see what clients have shared about their experiences.

  • What is the duration of a full-body massage?

You can choose from 30-minute, 60-minute, or 90-minute sessions. If you have specific areas you'd like to focus on, I can customize your treatment accordingly.

  • Should I eat before my massage session?

I recommend avoiding large meals right before your appointment. A light snack is okay, but it’s best to eat at least 90 minutes beforehand so you can fully relax during your session.

  • Do I need a doctor’s referral to see you?

No referral is needed. You can book a session with me anytime—just reach out if you have questions or specific medical concerns you'd like to discuss beforehand.

  • What if I feel uncomfortable with my body?

That’s completely okay. I want you to feel safe and at ease. You’ll always be properly draped during the session, and if there’s a particular area you’d prefer not to have massaged, just let me know. Your comfort is my priority.

  • When should I not get a massage?

If you're feeling unwell, have a fever, or are dealing with a contagious illness, it’s best to reschedule. If you have any medical conditions you're unsure about, just talk to me ahead of time so we can make sure massage is safe and beneficial for you.
